About COOPI’s Work in Nigeria
COOPI began its operations in North-East Nigeria in 2014, responding to the displacement and food security crisis caused by the Boko Haram insurgency in the Lake Chad Basin. In 2021, its activities expanded to the North-West regions — particularly Sokoto and Kaduna — emphasizing Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) and community resilience building.
The organization provides multi-sectoral humanitarian support focused on food security, nutrition, protection, and education for IDPs, returnees, and host communities, funded by partners such as the UN, USAID, EU, and FCDO.
“Humanitarian action is most effective when quality, accountability, and compassion guide every decision.”
