Job Overview
micro1 is recruiting photographers to contribute their visual expertise to an AI video annotation project for a customer. Successful contractors will use their knowledge of photography, visual analysis, and image quality to help train next-generation artificial intelligence systems.
You do not need previous artificial intelligence experience. The project is designed to leverage your existing domain expertise and your ability to carefully observe, evaluate, categorize, and document visual information.

What You’ll Do
- Review robotic footage: Carefully examine video recordings of robotic arms performing different tasks and observe each session in detail.
- Annotate and label video data: Tag and categorize footage according to the project’s detailed grading and annotation guidelines.
- Evaluate visual quality: Apply photography principles to assess image clarity, composition, framing, relevance, and other visual characteristics within the footage.
- Identify visual details: Detect subtle visual cues, discrepancies, inconsistencies, or issues in robotic task execution and document your observations accurately.
- Maintain consistency: Follow established project protocols and grading rules consistently across assigned sessions to help maintain reliable and uniform training data.
- Submit accurate work: Provide clear annotations and written observations using the project’s designated tools and workflows.
- Work asynchronously: Communicate with project trainers and coordinators when clarification or additional guidance is required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional or substantial experience in photography and visual composition.
- A strong understanding of image quality and technical visual evaluation.
- Previous experience with video annotation, data labeling, or AI training projects.
- Experience working with robotics or technical video footage is an advantage.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify subtle visual differences.
- Ability to follow complex instructions and repetitive workflows accurately.
- Experience with annotation platforms or visual data tools is desirable.
- Ability to work independently in a remote, asynchronous environment.
- Knowledge of artificial intelligence, machine learning, robotics, or AI data annotation is a plus but is not required.
