Quiz and practical exercise briefing

Certification is optional. Choose the role you want to demonstrate, answer its quiz, then complete the role’s own sample-business exercise. The quiz pass mark is 8 out of 10. A person reviews the practical work before payment is offered.

Bookkeeping essentials · read before the bookkeeping assessment

Use Money records for operating expenses, owner contributions and owner withdrawals. Stock purchases belong in the stock or supplier-invoice workflow. Customer repayments settle existing debt and must not create another sale.

  1. Use a separate practice profile and enter opening money before new trading.
  2. Record goods already owned as opening stock, including their cost. Record new purchases separately.
  3. Record each sale and actual payment once. Select the customer if any sale balance remains unpaid.
  4. Use Collect debt for later customer payments.
  5. Record business running costs as expenses. Personal money taken out is an owner withdrawal; personal money put in is an owner contribution.
  6. In Bookkeeping desk choose Reconcile balance. Count actual cash and compare it with the recorded account book. Investigate differences instead of adding a fake transaction.
  7. In Daily close & checks review dates, completeness, costs and actual balances. Record a reviewed close only after checking the underlying entries.
  8. Review the report, export an appropriate summary and save a full backup.

Example: opening cash ₦5,000 + cash sales ₦3,000 − expense ₦400 − owner withdrawal ₦300 + owner contribution ₦1,000 gives cash ₦8,300. If item costs were ₦1,800, operating profit is ₦800 before other adjustments and tax. The owner’s contribution and withdrawal affect money, not that profit calculation.

These are basic business records. They do not replace qualified accounting, tax filing or professional judgement.

Purchasing records · plans versus actual deliveries

Open Purchase orders, choose New purchase order, select the supplier, add the exact base-unit quantity and estimated cost, and save a draft for review. A draft creates no goods, liability or payment. Confirm only when agreed. Record actual receipts and costs as goods arrive; do not receive planned goods before they exist, or duplicate a linked receipt in Add stock.

Optional assessed certificates

₦1,000 per approved certificate. The learning videos stay free. Passing a quiz alone or paying alone does not earn a skills certificate. These are The Tech Thriller training credentials; there is no claim of external accreditation or a statutory professional licence.

Start or return to your learning assessment

Please complete the learning before attempting the quiz. Watch the lessons, read the guidance, take your role quiz, submit the practical exercise and wait for reviewer approval. Only then can you choose to pay for a certificate.

We will email a one-use access link. Keep your email account secure. You can request another link later to return to your application.
