Who is this for?

The Critical Facilities Engineer will be responsible for operating, maintaining, and repairing critical systems, including HVAC, power systems, plumbing, fire suppression, roofing, and facility grounds. This role ensures the continuous performance of Equinix’s Lagos Data Center while supporting vendor operations and troubleshooting issues promptly.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled maintenance, inspections, and troubleshooting on critical infrastructure systems.
- Conduct planned and emergency repairs on mechanical, electrical, and special systems.
- Monitor and respond to BMS (Building Monitoring System) alarms in compliance with policies.
- Coordinate with vendors to ensure proper maintenance and safety procedures are followed.
- Maintain critical spare parts inventory and update technical documentation.
- Ensure all safety standards, compliance regulations, and incident management processes are followed.
- Support training of other data center employees on engineering and process best practices.
Qualifications
- Hands-on experience in facilities maintenance within large commercial or high-rise properties.
- Ability to perform physical tasks including climbing, lifting, and extended standing.
- Proficiency with CMMS, CRM, and productivity software.
- Strong vendor management and communication skills.
- Flexible availability for nights, weekends, and holidays when required.
